Facials

Our skin is sensitive, fragile and gets affected by the changing seasons.  In winter, the skin becomes dry, in summer, it gets tanned and in the monsoon it turns dull and lifeless! So there have to be facials for different seasons that would address these skin issues.

Here we have listed facials that are suitable for changing seasons.

  1. Winter

In winter, the dropping mercury rips the skin of all moisture.  As a result, the skin  becomes dry and rough. So the best facial for this season has to be a fruit facial. This facial helps restore the lost glow and imparts proper moisture to the skin, making it look fresh and rejuvenated.

To do a facial at home, you need to clean your face, exfoliate it mildly and then apply the face pack. For DIY face pack, you could try mashed papaya, you may also try a combination of honey, mashed banana and milk. Leave it on the skin for 15minutes, rinse off with water and pat your skin dry. Next, apply a moisturizer to your face and neck and you are done.

  1. Summer

India being a tropical country, the summers are always harsh. The ruthless sun rays are damaging to the skin and tan it largely. The accumulation of dust deteriorates the skin even further, making it dull and oily.

To tackle this issue, clay or oats packs can be tried out in summer. Add some milk to it if you have a dry skin, yogurt if you have an oily skin or combination of milk and yogurt to the clay/oats if you have a normal skin. If you are using a clay, then make sure to moisturize the skin after washing the face pack.

If your skin has tanned a lot, you could get an Oxygen facial, Hydrating Whitening or Anti-tan facials done by professionals.

  1. Monsoon

The high humidity levels in atmosphere bring with them a set of problems for skin. It might look dull, oily, shiny or dry. The facials that will help your skin free from problems are oatmeal and rosewater facial and Fuller’s earth pack.

To make an oatmeal and rosewater facial, take a bowl, put 3tsp Oatmeal +tbsp rose water +tsp honey + 1tsp curd. Mix this to make a smooth paste and apply this on the cleansed face. Let it stay for 30 minutes and then rinse off with regular water.

To create Fuller’s Earth pack, take 1 tbsp of Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth) in a bowl and mix it with an adequate amount of water to make a smooth paste. The paste should be of thin consistency. Apply it to the skin and use a good moisturizer after washing it off with water. Those with dry skin can this pack a miss.
